Earl Minor of the Waverly Hotshots was really in the zone as he mowed down the MacComb hitters 13-0 in a sterling mound performance.
"I'm feeling good overall," he said.
"I'm executing my pitches, I'm able to hit my spots and I'm getting outs in key situations."
Minor shut down the MacComb Whales, blanking them on 3 hits while registering 4 strikeouts and 2 walks.

This past week the best batter in the Sub League 2 was Salvador Cortéz, who banged his way to the Player of the Week Trophy.
During the week the MacComb third baseman compiled a .458 batting average (11-24) with 1 home run, 4 runs batted in and scored 6 runs.
Cortéz is hitting .317 this year with 2 home runs, 30 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has 60 hits in 189 at-bats, 23 walks and a .398 on-base percentage. Cortéz has played in 52 games.

The Sub League 2 made it official today: Kyung-tae Kim is the Player of the Week.
He really sparkled on the diamond this week with a .583 average to take home the trophy. The MacComb catcher went 14-24, drove in 10 runs, scored 8 times and hit 1 home run.
In 2019 Kim has put up a .369 batting average with 24 hits, 1 home run and 15 RBIs.
