| Breaking News | | Saturday, August 31st, 2019: 5-5 Day for Miner! At Field of the Knights Mitch Miner of the Tucson Knights put on a hitting clinic today against Baltimore. He banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and mauled Cayugas pitching, but came up short in the win department.
In spite of his standout 5-hit performance, the Cayugas captured the game by the score of 9-4.
"Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," were his words in the postgame interview.
M. Miner singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
In his season totals Miner has 15 home runs and a .328 batting average. | | Monday, August 26th, 2019: Baltimore's Crum Down with Injury The Baltimore Cayugas will have to make do without Zach Crum for 3 weeks. He suffered a strained calf muscle while running the bases in the game today against the San Jose Sting Rays. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the center fielder. "That's a tough break for him," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We will just fill in until he gets back." Crum will miss 3 weeks.
Currently Crum has 12 home runs and a .265 batting average. | | Monday, August 19th, 2019: Ramey Pitches Baltimore to Shutout Victory Norman Ramey of the Baltimore Cayugas was on fire against Dallas. He shut them down 3-0 on 6 hits and no runs with 6 strikeouts and no walks.
"The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Ramey said. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that."
So far this season, Ramey has logged a 13-10 record with a 4.43 ERA. He has started 25 games, hurled 160.1 innings and registered 98 strikeouts and 50 walks. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | C Bill Goulding | torn thigh muscle | 4 weeks | 10 day(s) left (60-day DL) | | CF Zach Crum | strained calf muscle | 6 days | 3 day(s) left | | RF Eugene King | strained thigh muscle | 3 days | Not on DL | | LF Jack Lacenaire | fractured elbow | 9 months | On DL, eligible for return (60-day DL) | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 80-62, .563 PCT | | Position in Division | 2nd, 7.0 GB | | Record at home | 46-29, .613 PCT | | Record on the road | 34-33, .507 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 6-8, .429 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 20-22, .476 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 26-22, .542 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 54-40, .574 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 8-2, .800 PCT | | Record in April | 18-9, .667 PCT | | Record in May | 15-13, .536 PCT | | Record in June | 14-14, .500 PCT | | Record in July | 12-13, .480 PCT | | Record in August | 16-12, .571 PCT | | Record in September | 5-1, .833 PCT |
