| Breaking News |  | Saturday, September 7th, 2019: Wolf Point Tops Waverly for FBLR Title
The Wolf Point Doom concluded the season in grand fashion -- they won the FBL Rookie League Round 2. They nailed it down at Doom Ballpark by whipping the Waverly Hotshots 4-3 to win it all. They took the series 4-1.
Their motto for the season was "Win or Die Trying".
"They never let up and they never stopped trying the whole season," the Doom manager proudly told reporters. "They hustled and fought the whole season and it continued in the playoffs. They are a very special bunch of guys."
To get their 2nd league crown, the Doom finished up the regular season in the Sub League 1 Division 1 with a 38-24 record, ending up in first place in the division standings.

 | Monday, August 19th, 2019: Sub League 1 Announces #1 Player
It was announced today that Wolf Point right fielder Mike Harmon was selected the Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award for his superb play last week.
During the week he compiled a .591 batting average (13-22) with 1 home run, 10 runs batted in and scored 5 runs.
Currently Harmon is batting .325 with 37 hits and 2 home runs. He has knocked in 22 runs and scored 12 times.

 | Monday, August 12th, 2019: Gutiérrez Gets 5 Hits
It was a hits blitz for Félix Gutiérrez at Doom Ballpark. The Wolf Point Doom first baseman tore into Santa Ana for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace Doom to a 22-2 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book.
The manager for the Diamondbacks bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Gutiérrez, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game."
F. Gutiérrez singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
Year-to-date in 51 games Gutiérrez has compiled a .392 batting average with 87 hits and 3 home runs. He has also scored 40 times and knocked in 35 runs.
