Wednesday, August 14th, 2019: Cincinnati Shuts Out Trenton
"He was kind of teasing them with his offspeed stuff and his fastball was moving everywhere," the Cincinnati skipper said in postgame comments after Andrés Díaz had shut out the Trenton Dictators 4-0 on a 5-hit masterpiece.

Díaz numbered 5 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in a gem of a performance.

"We just didn't swing the bats very well . . . or he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," complained the Trenton manager after the defeat.

In 25 starts this year Díaz has fashioned a 11-4 record and a 3.15 ERA.
Monday, August 5th, 2019: Cincinnati's Stewart SL2 Star of the Week
It was a fantastic week for Cincinnati right fielder Alan Stewart and it was capped off today with the announcement that he was named the winner of the Sub League 2 Player of the Week Award.

Last week Stewart hammered the ball at a torrid .520 pace, going 13-25 with no home runs, 5 RBIs and 6 runs scored.

To date this year Stewart is batting .300 with 2 home runs.
Friday, June 28th, 2019: Wright Cracks 5 Hits
After the Yonkers 7-2 victory over Cincinnati and his 5-hit day center fielder Greg Wright told SION beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game is very good...three or four hits even better...5 or more are out of sight...and if it is in pro ball...it is really something special. It will get you in the record books."

The 22-year-old player gained that distinction today at Blue Devils Ballpark with a spectacular 5 for 5 game against the Cincinnati Wings.

The skipper of the Blue Devils spoke glowingly of Wright, telling SION writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Greg did that to perfection today."

G. Wright doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off R. Elliott in the 9th.

This season in 72 games Wright is batting .341 with 1 home run, 48 RBIs and has scored 45 times.
