"He was kind of teasing them with his offspeed stuff and his fastball was moving everywhere," the Cincinnati skipper said in postgame comments after Andrés Díaz had shut out the Trenton Dictators 4-0 on a 5-hit masterpiece.
Díaz numbered 5 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in a gem of a performance.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well . . . or he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," complained the Trenton manager after the defeat.
In 25 starts this year Díaz has fashioned a 11-4 record and a 3.15 ERA.

Harry Russell of the Tulsa Buzzards shut out the Trenton Dictators 6-0, held them to 3 hits with 4 walks and 1 strikeout. Russell said, "I could throw any pitch on any count."
The Trenton skipper called his game a jewel, saying, "The way he was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him."

"I felt great out there. After the second or third inning, I got real comfortable," Manuel Machado said in his postgame interview. "Hopefully this is a building block for me. I'm hoping for a few more starts like this."
The Yonkers hurler scored a 1-0 shutout victory over the Dictators, stopping them on 3 hits. He rung up 6 strikeouts and gave up no walks in today's performance.
