"That was one of my best outings," said Raúl Gómez. "I was worried a lot in the bullpen. My ball wasn't quite right. Luckily, it can be two different worlds -- the bullpen and the game. Once I stepped on the field, it all fell into place."
It was an impressive start for the Jewels hurler. He blanked the Sun Devils 4-0 on a strong 3-hitter while ringing up 5 strikeouts and doling out 1 walk.
This season Gómez has a 6-1 record with a 2.23 ERA.

 | Monday, July 1st, 2019: Herman Wins SL2's Best Bat Award
Reno's Steve Herman wowed sportswriters in June with an award-winning performance. For his standout play he was voted the Sub League 2 Batter of the Month.
He rang up a .333 batting average with 2 home runs, 22 RBIs and 18 runs scored. He also had 7 walks and a .378 on-base percentage.
Batting .268 to date, Herman has 2 home runs and 39 RBIs.

 | Monday, June 24th, 2019: Martínez Picked Best Player
The Sub League 2 made it official today: Orlando Martínez is the Player of the Week.
He really stood out on the diamond this week with a .391 average to take home the award. The Reno center fielder went 9-23, drove in 10 runs, scored 7 times and hit 2 home runs.
This season Martínez is batting .307 with 2 home runs. His totals include 24 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
