Wednesday, August 21st, 2019: Lamb Goes 5-6 Against Beechwood
5 hits in 6 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Palmer Lamb of the Glendale Steamboats had a sensational 5-6 game against Beechwood at Glendale Grounds. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 21-11 shellacking of the Bluefins.

In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off...Right, skipper?"

P. Lamb hit a three-run double in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off D. White in the 8th.

This year Lamb is batting .321 with no home runs and 14 RBIs.

Wednesday, August 21st, 2019: Horridge Raps Beechwood for 5 Hits
It was a good day all around. Glendale whipped Beechwood 21-11 and Clint Horridge displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Glendale Grounds.

"Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told SION reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Clint is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have, and vice versa."

The 23-year-old catcher for the Steamboats collected 5 hits in 7 at-bats to get his name in the record book.

C. Horridge singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off D. White in the 8th and grounded out in the 8th.

Thus far this season in 103 games Horridge is batting .272 with 2 home runs, 58 RBIs and 47 runs scored. He has 109 hits in 401 at-bats.

Wednesday, July 24th, 2019: Fleming Slams 5 Hits for North Port
Chris Fleming really did a number on the Bluefins -- but Beechwood retaliated and did a number on the Sinks -- they beat them 3-2.

Not just anyone can get 5 hits in 5 at-bats. But Fleming did just that today for North Port and gave his batting average a healthy boost, but did not deliver the victory.

"I felt real good in the batter's box today. I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done," the 22-year-old right fielder said after his record-setting performance. "I just wish we had won the game, too."

C. Fleming singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This season Fleming has hit at a .365 clip with 10 RBIs, 0 home runs and 7 runs scored. He has played in 19 games.
