| Breaking News | | Thursday, July 18th, 2019: Roberts Sensational, 5-5 Fort Riley North catcher Tony Roberts could do no wrong as he collected 5 hits against Deshler, but he couldn't win the game. "It's a shame we didn't win. It would have been a very special day if that had happened. But it didn't. At least my batting average didn't take a plunge, too," he said. The Garrison were beaten 8-7 at Ballpark of Fort Riley North by the Jazz.
"In every one of his at-bats, things were in his favor...he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Jazz said to the press corps after the game.
Roberts agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
T. Roberts hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Q. Johnson in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
In the current season, Roberts has put up a .344 batting average with 98 hits, 6 home runs, 47 RBIs and scored 40 times. | | Monday, July 8th, 2019: SL1 Player of the Week Named Swinging a hot stick last week, Joe Allaire picked up the Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award today.
