Thursday, July 18th, 2019: Roberts Sensational, 5-5
Fort Riley North catcher Tony Roberts could do no wrong as he collected 5 hits against Deshler, but he couldn't win the game. "It's a shame we didn't win. It would have been a very special day if that had happened. But it didn't. At least my batting average didn't take a plunge, too," he said. The Garrison were beaten 8-7 at Ballpark of Fort Riley North by the Jazz.

"In every one of his at-bats, things were in his favor...he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Jazz said to the press corps after the game.

Roberts agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."

T. Roberts hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Q. Johnson in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

In the current season, Roberts has put up a .344 batting average with 98 hits, 6 home runs, 47 RBIs and scored 40 times.
Monday, July 8th, 2019: SL1 Player of the Week Named
Swinging a hot stick last week, Joe Allaire picked up the Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award today.

The 22-year-old third baseman for Deshler lashed 15 hits in 27 at-bats as he put together a .556 average with 1 home run. Allaire also drove in 4 runs, scored 6 times and compiled a .613 OBP.

During the 2019 season Allaire has hit .438 with 1 home run and 6 RBIs. He has played in 18 games and scored 10 times.
Monday, July 1st, 2019: Great Stroke! Allaire Gets 5 Hits!
Joe Allaire told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard."

Well, that's just what Allaire of the Deshler Jazz did against the Orlando Trouts. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Trouts, who suffered a 9-1 defeat.

"Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us."

J. Allaire singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, was hit by a pitch in the 8th and doubled in the 9th.

In the 2019 season Allaire has hit .415 with no home runs, 2 RBIs and scored 7 runs.
