Bob Sims stepped up to the plate in a big way last week and today he took home the Sub League 2 Player of the Week honors.
The Scottsdale right fielder ripped opposing pitchers for 12 hits in 29 at-bats and 2 home runs. He put together a sizzling .414 batting average as he knocked in 13 runs and scored 5 times.
On the season, Sims is batting .362 with 14 home runs and 102 RBIs. He has played in 107 games.

 | Saturday, June 22nd, 2019: Hot Bat of Gitonga Burns Narwhals
Afify Gitonga really sizzled at the plate in today's 13-0 win over Narwhals. The Colorado Springs left fielder blistered Scottsdale for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Gitonga was too tough to get out today," the Narwhals skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
A. Gitonga singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off J. Camacho in the 8th and walked in a run in the 9th.
So far this year Gitonga is batting .387 with 1 home run.

| Monday, June 17th, 2019: Player of the Week: Sims of the Narwhals
Bob Sims captured all the headlines last week and today he added to his booty with the Sub League 2 Player of the Week trophy.
The Scottsdale Narwhals center fielder hammered league hurlers for 9 hits in 19 at-bats, a .474 average and 2 home runs. He also collected 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
This season-to-date Sims has 10 home runs and a .398 batting average.
