Norman Carlisle was in command in his outing against the Crandon Lakes Steeds. He hurled the William Bells to a 2-0 shutout victory, yielded 6 hits and chalked up 5 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"A complete game shutout. That's fun territory for me," he told reporters in the postgame interview. "I had good balance and mechanics and was able to keep the ball down. When I do that, good things happen."
This year Carlisle has compiled a 6-8 mark with a 4.27 ERA.

Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Germán Soto of the Bells knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Spokane Warplanes while throwing a pitch. Diagnosed as a damaged meniscus, the William reliever is expected to miss 7 weeks. Soto was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "There is nothing I can do now. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."
In 49 relief appearances this season, Soto has 3 saves. He has 5 wins and 3 losses, 5.60 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 91.2 innings.

Colorado Springs pitcher Raúl Sánchez blanked the William Bells 1-0, tossing a 2-hitter while issuing 1 walk and collecting 6 strikeouts.
After his sharp shutout performance, he said that he gives a lot of the credit to his batterymate. "Me and him are just locked in out there. He's so great at having a feel for hitters. I couldn't do what I'm doing without him."
