| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, July 31st, 2019: Crandon Lakes Reliever Hurt
Norberto López had to leave the Steeds game against Fort Wayne after suffering dead arm syndrome while throwing a pitch. He will be out of the lineup at least 2 weeks. He told SION reporters, "I just felt a sharp pain when it happened. I knew there was something wrong."
So far this season López has worked 61 innings in 37 relief appearances with 1 saves. He has dished out 39 strikeouts and walked 30 with a 6-1 mark and a 3.10 ERA.

James McGee must have thought he died and went to heaven this week. First he went on a remarkable batting rampage, hammering the ball at a .542 clip, then the Crandon Lakes shortstop finds outs he has been voted the league's top performer and gets the SL2 Player of the Week Award.
For the week McGee batted .542 (13-24) with 1 home run and 6 RBIs.
For the year McGee is batting .315 with 122 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 48 times and driven in 43.

 | Tuesday, July 16th, 2019: Bells Whitewash Steeds, Carlisle Winner
Norman Carlisle was in command in his outing against the Crandon Lakes Steeds. He hurled the William Bells to a 2-0 shutout victory, yielded 6 hits and chalked up 5 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"A complete game shutout. That's fun territory for me," he told reporters in the postgame interview. "I had good balance and mechanics and was able to keep the ball down. When I do that, good things happen."
This year Carlisle has compiled a 6-8 mark with a 4.27 ERA.
