He exclaimed, "What a day! We win and I get 5 hits! Couldn't be better!" The delighted first baseman was really enjoying the happiness of the moment in the press room.
"He was patient up there today," the Crandon Lakes skipper told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly agressive. Chávez has a tendency to go after some bad balls sometimes."
L. Chávez hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Zong-yuan Ning of the Crandon Lakes Steeds.
He tore up the Fort Wayne Reprisals to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the Crandon Lakes 11-4 win today at Field of the Steeds.
"Ning was a tough out today," the Fort Wayne manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
