| Breaking News | | Monday, September 2nd, 2019: Ultimates Win Round 2 Crown
The Ultimates earned their 1st Round 2 title and now get to spend all winter basking in glory, while the beaten Skychiefs will have many sleepless nights wondering what went wrong.
Chandler is the FBL Double A Champions for 2019. They did it with a 6-4 triumph to capture the series 4-1.
"Both clubs are talented. We just made fewer mistakes than they did," the winning manager said to the press corps at the postgame press conference. "We made the crucial plays and got the timely hits."
The Toledo skipper agreed with that assessment and added, "We were a little weak on fundamentals at crucial times. I have a sneaky suspicion we will be working on fundamentals a lot next spring."
On the way to the Round 2 championship, the Ultimates ended up in first place in the Sub League 2 Division 1 and compiled a 77-43 record during the regular season.

 | Thursday, August 1st, 2019: Ultimates López July's Top Hurler
The Sub League 2 scribes have selected July's Pitcher of the Month and have awarded the honor to António López of Chandler. He was outstanding on the hill last month and has the numbers to prove it -- a 5-0 record.
The Ultimates star performer made 5 starts with a 0.67 ERA and surrendered 23 hits in 40.1 innings. He struck out 41 and walked 5.
His record this year is 13-6 in 21 starts and López has a 2.62 ERA.

The Sub League 2 has chosen José Mata of the Chandler Ultimates as Player of the Week.
What a week Mata had. He hit .444 (12-27) with 2 home runs, 9 RBIs and 7 runs scored.
Mata has a .329 average and a .394 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 123 hits, 8 home runs and driven in 66 runs.
