All went well for John Reeves of the Bakersfield Hazards as he pitched his team to a 2-0 shutout victory over the Saint Petersburg Skeletons, limiting them to 3 hits while ringing up 5 strikeouts and surrendering 1 walk.
In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Reeves.
His manager described him this way: "He's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy. He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
The Saint Petersburg skipper said, "He doesn't give you anything twice. It's a guessing game with him and today my club was always guessing wrong."
This season Reeves has registered 2 wins and 2 losses in 6 starts with a 4.83 ERA.

 | Tuesday, August 6th, 2019: Jordan Sizzles, Toledo Fizzles
The Toledo Skychiefs met their match today in Bakersfield hurler Walt Jordan. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 2-hit shutout.
"He just worked us over," the Toledo skipper said. "He probably didn't even take a shower after the game. I don't think he even worked up a sweat. They could probably pitch him again tomorrow."
In the 8-0 victory Jordan whiffed 3 and gave up 4 walks.
This season Jordan has worked 117.1 innings with 68 strikeouts en route to a 8-3 record and a 2.76 ERA.

 | Thursday, August 1st, 2019: Arroyo Garners SL1 #1 Pitcher Award
This month when the Bakersfield manager wrote the name "Arroyo" on the lineup card, he was pretty confident that he would get a good start out of him. Outing after outing in July David Arroyo took command and usually got the win.
He dominated with a 5-0 mark and 1.98 ERA in 6 starts, piling up 41 innings and 31 strikeouts and holding opposing teams to a .212 average.
For his superb performance Arroyo was named the Sub League 1 Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers.
Checking out his stats for the season, Arroyo has notched 11 wins and 3 losses in 22 starts, 3.66 ERA and struck out 87 batters in 130.1 innings.
