| Breaking News |  | Monday, July 8th, 2019: Stewart Selected Top Player The Player of the Week has been chosen by the Sub League 2. The award went to Ronald Stewart, catcher of the Sinton Express.
In a sensational hitting performance, he wrecked league pitchers with a .531 average to win the honor. Stewart went 17-32 for the week, totaled 2 home runs and 10 RBIs and scored 6 times.
For the season, Stewart is hitting at a .266 clip with 2 home runs, 19 RBIs and has scored 23 runs. He has 47 hits, 27 walks and a .378 on-base percentage. |  | Wednesday, May 8th, 2019: Hernández Sensational, 5-6 Juan Hernández had an answer for everything the Tieton Golden Nuggets threw him today in the Sinton 15-2 triumph at Express Ballpark. He made good contact 5 times and 5 times he drilled the ball for a base hit.
The Sinton center fielder went 5 for 6 in the game to put his name in the record book.
Summing up his batting philosophy to SION writers after the game, Hernández said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."
J. Hernández singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, tripled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
In 9 games this season Hernández has batted at a .552 pace with 16 hits and no home runs. |  | Thursday, July 26th, 2018: Big Day with Bat, Kelly 5-6 If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Jim Kelly showed how it's done as he went 5 for 6 against the Sinton Express and helped the Tieton Golden Nuggets beat them 18-7.
The manager for the Express told the SION sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames."
If Kelly keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise.
J. Kelly hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
