Monday, August 19th, 2019: Week's Top Performer Honored by SL2
His solid numbers speak for themselves. That's why Jake Nelson of the Stockton Angelfish was named the Sub League 2 Player of the Week.

For the week Nelson batted .360 (9-25) with 2 home runs and 6 RBIs.

In 120 games this season Nelson is batting .247 with 114 hits and 16 home runs. He has scored 69 runs and driven in 71.
Sunday, August 4th, 2019: 5-5 Game for Campbell
If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Andrew Campbell showed how it's done as he went 5 for 5 against the Stockton Angelfish and helped the Tieton Golden Nuggets beat them 10-9.

The manager for the Angelfish told the SION sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames."

If Campbell keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise.

A. Campbell singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off M. Bowers in the 8th.

Posting a .268 batting average to date, Campbell has 6 home runs and 54 RBIs.
Thursday, July 4th, 2019: Hit Parade! Murphy Pops 5 Hits!
There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. Jeffery Murphy of the Arlington Gazelles had one of those moments when he went 5 for 5 at the plate today in the 7-4 win over the Stockton Angelfish at Gazelles Ballpark.

The 22-year-old second baseman told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day...enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe."

J. Murphy singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

This year Murphy is batting .298 with no home runs and 30 RBIs. In 56 games he has scored 29 times.
