| Breaking News |  | Friday, August 30th, 2019: Centreville Says Brewer Hospitalized
Centreville reliever Eddie Brewer hasn't been feeling well lately and now has been diagnosed with the flu. He's expected to be out for one week.
Season-to-date, Brewer has rung up no saves in 35 relief appearances. He has 33 strikeouts and 28 walks in 63.1 innings while registering a 3.41 ERA and a 4-0 won-lost record.

 | Monday, July 29th, 2019: Week's Premier Performer Honored by SL1
The premier performer in the Sub League 1 this week was Pedro Guzmán of the Centreville Salamanders.
The hot-hitting 27-year-old first baseman put up a .333 average and .379 on-base percentage, piling up 9 hits in 27 at-bats, 4 home runs, 8 RBIs and 8 runs scored.
That kind of hitting got him the SL1 Player of the Week honors.
Guzmán is hitting .294 this year with 7 home runs and 27 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .337, 11 walks and scored 31 times.

Dan Webb of the Centreville Salamanders blanked Norfolk 9-0 on a 5-hit complete game shutout, striking out 4 batters and walking 2.
