For the month of August, Rodney McCoy of the Tucson Knights has really worn out the sweet spot on his bat. He has assaulted, used and abused Sub League 2 pitchers to the tune of a .356 batting average and was honored as the hottest hitter of the month today.
McCoy went 37 for 104 last month with 15 walks. The left fielder tallied 6 home runs, 22 RBIs, 19 runs scored and compiled a .443 on-base percentage.
Hitting .284 to date, McCoy has 13 home runs and 52 RBIs. He has played in 116 games.

 | Saturday, August 31st, 2019: 5-5 Day for Miner!
At Field of the Knights Mitch Miner of the Tucson Knights put on a hitting clinic today against Baltimore. He banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and mauled Cayugas pitching, but came up short in the win department.
In spite of his standout 5-hit performance, the Cayugas captured the game by the score of 9-4.
"Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," were his words in the postgame interview.
M. Miner singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
In his season totals Miner has 15 home runs and a .328 batting average.

| Monday, August 26th, 2019: SL2 Player of the Week Named
Mitch Miner has the tools to stick in this league for many years, but it might be a long time before he has another week to compare with this one. The 24-year-old center fielder of the Tucson Knights dominated the Sub League 2 over the past seven days to win Player of the Week honors.
Miner batted .500 with 14 hits in 28 at-bats, 1 home run and 8 RBIs.
In 2019 Miner has put up a .316 batting average with 128 hits, 14 home runs and 59 RBIs.
