Fu-chi Louis at first refused to leave today's Nashville-El Paso game after he suffered a strained calf muscle while running the bases. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I'm a competitor," the feisty El Paso right fielder said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Louis out of action for 1-2 weeks.
This season Louis is hitting at a .282 pace with 28 home runs, 89 RBIs and has scored 81 times.

The 33-year-old El Paso Bayonets right fielder might not have the spring he had in his step years ago, but the "old man" can still play the game. Fu-chi Louis has been a reliable ballplayer, one who has worked hard to earn everything he's achieved and today he sits on top of the heap as he was named the Sub League 2 Player of the Week.
He went 11-22 to racked up a .500 average with 3 home runs and 7 RBI this past week. Louis also scored 5 runs.
Louis has collected 144 hits for the Bayonets this year, 28 of them home runs. He has also netted 87 RBIs and scored 80 runs while batting .280.
