Watching Spencer Wright getting helped off the field today at Banshees Ballpark, fans of the Buffalo Banshees feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the starting pitcher will miss 2 weeks with dead arm syndrome. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Wright suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the game against the Knights.
In 2019 Wright has compiled a 8-6 mark with a 4.67 ERA in 28 starts.

 | Sunday, September 1st, 2019: Bass - SL2's Pitcher of the Month
It was a very good month for Bernard Bass in August. The 37-year-old veteran starter for the Buffalo Banshees outpitched everybody -- young and old -- to claim the Sub League 2 Pitcher of the Month award earlier today.
Bass ran up a 5-0 record in his 5 starts during the month. In 36.2 innings he fanned 44 and recorded a 1.23 ERA.
On his stats sheet this season Bass shows a 15-4 record, 25 starts, 164 innings, 224 strikeouts and a 1.76 ERA.

 | Monday, August 12th, 2019: SL2 Announces Player of the Week
The hottest bat of the week belonged to Buffalo second baseman Ronald Melton.
He went on a rampage last week against SL2 hurlers and rapped out 12 hits in 28 at-bats for a .429 average while hitting 2 home runs, driving in 9 runs and scoring 5 runs -- numbers quite worthy of the Sub League 2 Player of the Week trophy.
Melton was honored today at a press conference.
Looking at his 2019 season stats, Melton has compiled a .256 batting average in 101 games with a .290 on-base percentage, while hitting 14 home runs and driving in 72 runs.
