Stu Jenkins was dynamite today and just blew Nashville away in the 6-0 victory. The San Jose Sting Rays starter had everything working as he hurled a 4-hit shutout over the Sounds, recording 5 strikeouts and 5 walks.
"He was pure nasty out there today. I don't think any team in the would've had a chance against what he was bringing," said the Nashville skipper during his postgame press conference.
So far this season Jenkins has a 9-14 record with a 4.61 ERA.

Leroy Ellison put up eye-catching numbers in July to earn himself the Sub League 2 Rookie of the Month Award.
The right fielder for the Nashville Sounds batted .294 with 1 home run, 17 RBIs and 15 runs scored as he proved he does deserve to play in the Sub League 2.
In 2019 Ellison is currently batting .265 with 2 home runs and 21 RBIs. In 39 games he has reached base at a .355 rate and scored 26 runs to date.

Today the Sub League 2 announced its Player of the Week Award winner -- Nashville Sounds left fielder Rob McCauley, who batted .481 (13-27) with 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
This year McCauley is batting .313 with 89 hits, 8 home runs, 33 RBIs, 40 walks, .398 OBP and has scored 50 runs.
