 | Sunday, August 25th, 2019: Injury Takes Toll, Valdéz Out 8 Months Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Jesús Valdéz of the Bayonets knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Baltimore Cayugas while running the bases. Diagnosed as a torn back muscle, the El Paso first baseman is expected to miss 8 months. Valdéz was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "There is nothing I can do now. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen." This year Valdéz has batted at a .271 pace with 130 hits, 25 home runs, 79 RBIs and scored 63 times. |
