 | Thursday, August 1st, 2019: Wild Right Fielder Injured Shiki Okamura at first refused to leave today's Staten Island-Jersey City game after he suffered bruised ribs while making a defensive play. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I'm a competitor," the feisty Jersey City right fielder said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Okamura out of action for 1-2 weeks. This year Okamura has hit at a .252 pace and produced 29 RBIs, 7 home runs and scored 64 runs. |
