 | Monday, July 29th, 2019: Watson 5-6 Against Corals Getting 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day. Mesa's Chris Watson had a very special day against the Corals when everything came together for him. He really swung the bat with authority, getting 5 hits in 6 at-bats. However, it was San Diego that picked up the victory. They topped the Rail Cats 5-4 at Ballpark of Mesa. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Watson said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em. I had a great day, but the loss kinda put a damper on the day." Disappointed or not, he still gets his name written in the record books. C. Watson singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, doubled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and hit a solo-shot off C. Núñez in the 12th. To date Watson has chalked up a .248 average with 3 home runs, driven in 11 runs and scored 12 times. |
